We develop keynotes as we see topics and themes emerge in the corporate landscape. Our intent is not to simply talk to those we deliver keynotes to, but to talk with them. We tend to deliver more ‘facilitated keynotes’ which include interaction with our audience, or we can offer a typical conference keynote. Some of our keynote offerings are powered by our partner brands and developed around the core theme which that brand has invested.
The newness has worn off. The euphoria has faded away. You come face to face with what you signed up for. And it’s not what you expected to see. You are now in The Middle.
The Middle Keynote will encourage and equip you to keep going through The Middle – the territory we must all navigate in pursuit of our goals.
On the 1st January 1999, Travis Gale and Stephen Bonaconsa set out on an around the world bicycle tour, with a vision to raise R1 million for children affected by and living with HIV/AIDS in KZN. On Day 5, the 5th of January 1999, the tour almost came to an end with the pair not having even left their home country or raised a single cent. On the 18th of December, the pair returned to their starting point having cycled 17000km across four continents, raising R1.7 million for their cause.
The Middle keynote shares stories from the tour, using impactful media and imagery, linking that story with key insights required to navigate the many contexts all individuals and teams navigate today. The keynote seeks to set individuals and teams up with the skills to develop GRIT and RESILIENCE as they continue to endure through an uncertain environment of challenges and barriers.
‘We don’t rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the levels of our systems.’ – James Clear
James Clear, in his book Atomic Habits, states that we don’t rise to the level of our goals, we fall to the level of our systems. At Appletree, we see that system as the way we do things around here. In other words, our culture. Too often, we focus on setting goals and landing targets, yet we don’t give enough attention to the culture or daily actions and behaviours required to reach those goals. ONE finds its name in the idea that a 1% change in how we do things is easier to adopt and inculcate in our daily routines, setting up individuals and teams to leverage on these tiny gains to achieve significant results.
You may be clear on your goals. Have you considered how you will get there?
